A few of us have just bought innovate wideband kits. These are wideband lambda sensors that can go in where your main lambda goes, and a controller that can pretend it is a normal lambda sensor but shift the air-fuel ratio it senses, fooling the ECU into adjusting to a different mixture.
Normal sensors sense 14:1 I think, but this will sense up to 16:1 so you could lean the engine out... Not sure if that would actually save you any fuel though, as leaning it off too much could cause damage and it might make more sense to richen it up to get more power and just not drive as hard...
Failing that I wonder if anyone has done an engine swap to one of those 900cc 3 cyl Corsa engines 😃
