Battery in boot??

This is something that I know absolutely nothing about. How do you go about wiring a battery in the boot? What sort of wiring is needed to provide a charge to the battery and where do you connnect the wiring to in the engine? Do you need a charge splitter or something like that? Help!!

not a problem to install the battery in the boot, it would move some weight away from the heavy front end too

You can get split charging relays I fit them when wiring Tow bars, you just need one wire direct from the main battery and the relay sends power when the car is running and shuts off when not running clever it does this by measuring the battery voltage.
