car holding back?

im fairly sure my car isnt running 100%. when you change gear and put your foot down it does seem to hold back only way i can descibe it is it feels like car is finding it hard to sort out the fueling when driveing on main roads seems ok. but does struggle when useing the back roads did test my 02 sensor with my tester and it tested ok could be dis pack i quess but dont want just keep replaceing stuff on the off chance anybody got any thoughts please this is driveing me mad as i know car should be quicker help 🙁

does it only happen when cornering or low on fuel?? as it could be that something is blocking the filter on the pump in the tank as this was happening to me and i thought it was plugs/coil pack/ needing a service etc etc. i have got a coil pack spare if you want to try it, but if you car needs a service get it done as that will help a bit.

as above if it does it when your low on fuel and less when the tank is full i would say it is the swirl pot in the tank wich is at fault sorry to say it may need to have a fuel tank ...the one way to test is to fit a fuel presure test rig when the car is faulty and see if you can see the presure drop on the rig as the fuel flows away from the pump ...,..(one thing to note when testing the car this way the fault may not be there when the rig is fitted but you will see a definate drop in preshure)

Hi ya, I've got the same situation, mainly in 2nd between 2000-3000 revs. I've just ordered some new spark plugs and fuel filter as i've changed all other service items in the past month (air filter, oil filter + oil), will see how it goes when I've changed them but if not I might be on thr scrounge to borrow your spare coil pack if thats ok Jay P????

thanks for your ideas guys the car isnt due a service and its just the same with a full tank or a low tank of fuel if a new coil pack sorts yours spooks you will have to let us no wish there was a way of testing the coil pack. must say my old bmw was the same had loads of trouble with it in the end turned out to be one of the coil rubber boots breaking down replaced all 6 £45 and car was fine wonder if the rubber boots on the coil pack can be replaced dunno..
