Another newbe saying hello

Found this forum after looking for timing chain info on the Z22se engine after buying a X reg Vectra 2.2 CDX a couple of weeks ago and have to say what a gold mine of information that you chaps ( and lasses ) have collected . Using the advice on here I've got mine stripped down already to change the cam chain , glad I did because its got the old style oil hole ! Jus tgot to put it back together now .

I've always driven Vauxhalls ( used to work there as a toolmaker a few years ago ) and have also got a XE engined kit car ( RAW Striker) as a hobby and fun car .

Seems the chains the weak part of the engine . Hopefully when its back together it'll be a reliable car , bought it in ignorance of the chain problem but I couldn't use it once I'd found out about the potential of the chain snapping .

Mine the same as that but yellow . I'll have to take some new photo's ( and figure out how to load them ! ) as I've just fitted some new OZ wheels showo..

See if this works notsure.gif Photo of kit with old wheels on . Haven't got any photo's of the Vectra yet , picked it up and drove it straight into the garage at home to do the timing chain .

I see you've got a VX2200 . I remember spending a morning at Millbrook test track a few years ago driving the then new VX2200 turbo and various Elises around . IMO the VX was the better car. I've always said I'll get a VX2200 someday , couldn't afford one when they were new hence the kit car .
