lack of low rev performance

anyone had a prblem in that trying to accelerate below 2000rpm the car feels af it is firing on 3,ease off and the car picks up,it does it hot or cold and is annoying(sometimes sounds like it is firing on 3) after 2000rpm the car goes very well,no probs whatsoever ,smooth as a babys bottom,if you put your foot down at low revs the car will falter as if there is no fuel then eventually pick up,there are no management lights on btw

panic over,fixed it.it was a split in the vacuum pipe to the fuel regulator,something had worn through it

well i thought i had cured it,how wrong was i? the car is a pain below 2000rpm yet is ok above,worse when cold yet yesterday the car ran badley below 2000rpm,left the car 1 hour and no faults,when hot sometimes ok sometimes not,the exhast tail box is turning black(new back box)

Sounds to me like your EGR valve either needs replacing (best solution) or given a good clean with some carb cleaner.

looks like the low rev running probs were cause by a slack timing chain,the car is now quite and drives a lot differently

tried a new egr valve and guess what? no difference,when cold it feels like a misfire,it is better when hot,sometimes it is ok when hot,it only does it under load and if you ease off you can accelerate!
