Which pipercams do i need???

There are a few different ones, can i have the fast road ones for the 2.2 ecotec, regrinds are only £200.

they are the wrong cams :roll:

vx22bp270 are the correct cams, piper only do one type for the z22se 🙂

just above where you circled in red are the astra / vx220 cams

the 2.0/2.2 is the cast iron block engine = x20xe x22xe as found in older vauxhalls like the vectra and frontera

Am i correct in thinking that these cams will return horrendous fuel consumption below 2000rpm due to the fact the ECU will be going nuts? They seem to smell rather rather rich...

Also, i know that the operational range is 2000-6800rpm, but how much above this will they still provide power if one had an uprated valvetrain... 7200rpm maybe?

if you want 7,200 i think you will need stage two cams dunno..

fuel consumption would be around town 22 mpg, previous 26 mpg, so not that bad dunno..

well my power graph didn't dip before the limiter, so maybe 7000 rpm before it drops notsure.gif

i didnt think it would effect it that bad :shock: i only thought it would effect it when the cams are actualyy working and you hammering it notsure.gif

could always pull the MAP sensor out, and have 2-3foot of rubber hose between the manifold and the sensor to damp the pulses... or even put an old skool fuel filter inline to damp even more 😃
