Speedster on dyno... but bad result

Hello,

on friday I was on Dyno at EDS-Motorsport.
the result was very bad i think.

The modifications:

Lexmaul sportcat and manifold
2.4 manifold
big air intake
Lotus-Specials exhaust
EDS Phase1 at ECU
ported throttlebody

the ___________________ is the result of friday
the _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ from 2006 only with EDS Phase 1 and removed precat.

Why is my result so bad? any ideas?

because the 2.4 manifold tends to run better with a standard map. the eds standard remap is a good one but when that was developed no1 knew anything about the manifold.

does eds also do live remaps? my opinion is to get a new one and make sure its a live one

btw did they raise yer rev limit too?

you can see that the 2.4 power doesn't drop off, but as above it appears your remap needs replacing

My dyno graphs are better but i had too a leak of torque at middle range. I had original air box destricted and KN filter. 177hp but 2m/kg less torque at around 3500/4000 :oops:

Now I have the original air box, a KN filter panel ...... and the little pipe which is just after the filter and that anybody can extract. This only pipe gave me lot more torque at middle range :shock: It is now much much better.

But only the software will decrease the hp´s for 20 hp?
i can´t believe this. I´m thinking about to go back to 2.2 manifold. The lose in torque is very terrible...

I have a remap and 177hp. So dunno..

maxon the loss in torque at low revs should have been restored with the lexmal manifold, sportscat and exhaust.

just get a new "live" remap

he means that with his 2.4 inlet manifold he had a remap cheers..

And when i drive to a Opel garage and replace my EDS phase1 with a standart software, then everything will be fine?

I doubt it will be perfect

having a loss in mid range torque is 100% normal with the 2.4 inlet manifold. That's why I always said this update is perfect for track use but should be very annoying on the road

Did it affect the top end power replacing the cone shaped pipe in the air box? notsure.gif

with the 2.4 manifold he will still have a loss of torque at mid range of course but his removed precat, lexmaul manifold with sportscat and exhaust should make up for a big chunk of the loss.

right now his new curve only gets better then his old one at 6000rpm. i think that with a right remap he should have serious more power from 4000rpm all the way to the redline.

i believe(am not a specialist so not sure 😃) that in order to stop our self-learning-ecu from overwriting a map it has to be locked in some way. And that should be why the 2.4 manifold doesnt work well with a remap that is not written specially for that manifold.
the ecu cant adjust everything to get the max out of it.
