New Inlet Pipe :)

well i popped over to the scrappy today and got a 90deg bend that just happened to fit the throttle body.. found some gutter pipe in the garage, perfect fit, chopped up the existing one and put it all together..

this is how it ended up

although i had to get rid of the breather from the engine to the inlet.. im going to get a breather on it instead

have you noticed any improvements dunno..

the standard vx220 inlet pipe is very twisty = poor flow :roll:

nice bend, could be a cheaper alternative to getting silicon stuff - what did it fall off ?

i dont know, i jsut went to the scrappers and it was lying there.. so i asked how much.. £2 all in 🙂

i had to mod it tho to fit over the TB.

cleaning the TB, and making this has seen improvements.. i can feel it pull better. when you plant your foot in 3rd form 20mph it goes then soon as it hits about 3.5k it gives you another boot in the back..

i had previously lost this.. 🙁

i still need to remove the EGR.

fit EGR Cheater, port the TB, get a blanking plate sorted from somewhere...

Slightly related, can't find the original thread that inspired me. Just fitted the Vectra C intake pipe to a VX. It fits but only just.

That's the one a few of us are using now on the Vectra and the Astra.

It works very well. I've sent one of those out to a member on here who lives in Austrailia.

Where have you fitted the air temp sensor?

The sensor has now been put in just before the stretchy bit :roll: have been driving it a few days now. My first impressions were very good, in fact quite surprised by the difference but it did not last. Was it placebo effect or the ECU adjusting itself I dont know, Id like to think it proved the engine is mechanically capable of more just the ECU wont allow it?

Next I am refitting the trumpet to restore the pipe length but with a larger bore.

I felt that the new intake pipe made for better smoother acceleration when I fitted mine.
