djsri hi ive posted a link on here before.got astra 2.2 and it using loads of oil at mo.no puddles of oil under car as i would expect.have put some pics on as where there is lot of oil build up around engine.also took off the pipe that goes from the air filter to the throttle housiong and notice lots of burnt oil and bit of freash oil in the throtle housing by the butterfly.also seems be a buit in the blaack pipe itelsef thats leads fromthe air filter.last car i had this on was an xr3i 15 years ago!!!do the breather pipes get blocked and this cause it? if so where are they tryied to locate but dnt realy know which is which..also there is oil on the pully belt wheel and the surounding area? anyone can help please look at the pics..thanks
Lightning_Coupe There's an oil seal behind the crank shaft auxilary drive belt pully pictured past. I think you have to remove the pulley and the timming chain cover it passes through (which is also the oil pump!) to fit a new one. Which also means a new timing cover gasket.
djsri is there any reason why oil would get into the air filter box tho? and is there any 1 in the mids i could get to do the work?..thanks
djsri is there any way to sort this as there seems be a lot of oil going into the throttle housing.are there any pics etc showinh all the breather pipes.is it cos they are blocked etc?like i said before.had xr3i with same kinda breather pipes probs and the airfilter box was half full of oil.dread think what mine is but cant get off at mo due to them stoooppid vauxhal security nuts they put in
