air con not working

hi got x reg 2.2 astra with 80k on clock.being as nice day put aircon on.drove ten miles and no sign of me being chilled at all...only had few months now and not impressed witth car.1 thing after another,squeaky seat,using loads oil, and now this ..any ideas wht may cause it? got all the settings etc on help !!

well i ve checked the fuses..all ok...noticed tho the fan infront of the condensing radiator doesnt move ..left the car running for ten mins and didnt move at all...is this normal ?

probably needs a re-gas :roll:

is there any reason why the fan is not switching on.?i put the aircon switch on in the dash and you can hear the air coming out of the air vents before you turn the blowers on.

To cut a long story short, there is a pressure switch that shuts the system down if there is too much or too little pressure in the system as Neil said a simple re-gas will sort it out.

if you regass it , it will be fine but if it has not been used for a long time it may have a leak on it due to the seals regassed mine one day and all gone the next used the stuff from halfords with leak seal in it as well .
