as above really..
the other week i joined some of the vx220 guys for a run in the lakes.. and about 20 miles into the journey the car the EML light came on pulled over and the engine started running lumpy on idle. i decided to cary on as it felt fine when driving, didnt notice it.. got the the meeting point and the lumpy idle was gone, and the car revved fine, felt fine but the light was still on..so i decided to carry on, about an hour later light went off and never came back on...
so now here is the story
last night it was dark wet n windy, filled up the tank couple of days b4 with vpower and done 70 miles or so, drove for about 1.5 hours and the car started to feel lumpy when letting off the gas.. no light, so carried on..
on the return journey home the light came back on.. car running very lumpy, stalled on idle, hit a pot hole, popped my tyre but managed to sort that with the tyre weld.
when it stalled i left it a min and switched it back on, have it a good rev to 6k and the idle was perfect, but light was still on, 5 mins later lumpyness returned.
now im home, just gave the car a quick wash the light is still on and lumpy..
would it be worth removing the EGR and fitting the cheater??
edit: when i turned the car on this morning the fan was on straight away.... i dont know how relivant that is tho
