Help needed please - exhaust manifold issues

Hi guys,

As I've now got the DBilas exhaust manifold, I have got some problems, mainly because the Vec-C is slightly different to the other z22se cars.

My car has the cat as part of the downpipe so I need a new downpipe fabricating and a cat welding.

Took the car to where I had the exhaust built to chat to them about having it fitted...

Problem 1... I need a flange to fit the manifold as mine doesn't have one, to get one fabricated is about £50 :?

So do I try and get a used downpipe from a vec B for example (if so does anybody know the opening size of these?) Or get a flange from elsewhere?

Problem 2... the exhaust place quoted between £220 and £300 as the lambda wire needs extending on the second one, fitting the manifold, building the downpipe and welding the new cat in, does this price seem right?

The hole diameter on the dbilas manifold is 76mm bang on as I checked that with my vernier caliper on Friday morning when I opened it. IIRC, the opening on the downpipe flange is about 78mm.

I would say if you were to have a new downpipe fabricated as described in 'Problem 2', the price that you have been quoted seems very fair.

Where bouts you based fella.....can knock one of these up for you...U'll just need to suplly the new cat....if you wanna consider it pm me for a good price....

Daz's offer looks like a bloody good option to me Vid! Blueflame charged me £170 for a custom downpipe but I suplied the flange and the cat.

Daz what's the diamater of those pipes mate look wider than the O/E which is 2"s if I'm right? notsure.gif

IIRC the new pipe was around 60-62mm in dia alan...

I can vouch for Daz's handywork, may not be the prettiest welding, but the welder is shit, and the welds are nice and strong and complete, he wont do you wrong. It's worth going there just to be filled up on tea from old Ma.

LOL, thanks mate, he has kindly agreed to do the work for me, I can't wait to see the improvement with the dbilas manifold and the larger downpipe AND the high flow cat! 😃

But vids is on...and ures is at the other end of the country john.... pmsl.. Not abad job to do in all fairness.....only problem i encountered was one of the nuts you cannot get a socket or spanner on..so had to wind it on with a screwbodge and then nip with open end of spanner...Both llamda sensor wires needed extending also...
