does anyone else have this when they slam there foot on the accelerater below 3000rpm there a bit of lag then when it hits 4000rpm it goes i have noticed if it slowly build the power up the powers always there ive been told that the fuel injectors dont fully open till 3500-4000rpm under that its just a mist of fuel in the cylinders then over that its sprays the fuel in the cylinders (all on a private road :lol: )

yeah i used to get that when i had my 2.2, i`ve read on here somewhere that their is s dip in the torque curve around the 3k-4k range.

yea i had it then i removed the precat and it is alot better know still there but not as much 😃

baz, unfortunately that is the characteristic of a 16v engine :roll: bring back 8v thats what i say :lol:

ive never had it any other 16v engine before just the 2.2

I had a Rover 214SLi 16v before this car and had the same problem, below 3000rpm slow to pick up but above 3500rpm started to pull.

Definately a characterisic of the 2.2 engine. With the work that i've had done on mine it still shows a dip at 2500rpm. Of all the power graphs that i've seen from the 2.2 engine, its the same story.

yes they may have a dip in the power band but not to the extent that the car physically stutters only clearing when the throttle is eased off,oops look at "lack of low down performance"
