Temperature gauge only goes to the first bar

Hiya all, on me Astra gsi since I have had it I have noticed the temperature gauge only goes to the first bar keep real cool, heaters nice and worm everything mint, I asked the chap who I brought it off if he fitted a cool running thermostat he says not? Is anything else common? If I get stuck in traffic it does go up to half way.

I wouldn't worry too much, my cdti vectra gauge is doing the same at the moment

i've got scan gauge III and the it says something differnt to the cars temp gauge!
the scan guage could be on 90c+ and the car says 80c

Is he SURE it's not got a cool running thermostat in? Did he say it ran at them temp, or has it only dropped since you for the car?

nope he said its always was like that with him, it was like it wen i drove it home 70miles and it was ok, he had 2 drive 144miles 2 meet so it had a gud test lol
