I quite fancy getting one of these for a play with to take on track and to see what difference various modifications make, however at £195 it's a bit pricey for something which I'll probably only use a handful of times per year.

Therefore I was just wondering on the offchance that some of the people in the region (Essex/Norfolk/Suffolk/Cambs) might want to go halves or even quarters on one?

I'm sure that even between 4 people you'd get more than enough time to play with it.

Muncher, I'm sure I read on vx220.org that the G-Tech couldn't pick up the rpm through the cigarette lighter on the VX (might have been one of Mark Verboom's posts). You might want to check that out first before going ahead and getting one. Assuming it works, I might be interested in contributing, for novelty value alone.

I got the following printout from my Engine Scan Pro software hooked up via the OBD port. I was out capturing some ECU data and thought I'd try the drag strip and dyno feature in the sofware. The dyno results showed me to have about 1200bhp but I think these numbers are absolutes. It's the first full bore start I've done in 20 years of driving and I'd ignore the 1/4 mile time and speed as I'd backed off a bit by then but still interesting.

Yup, I had one. RPM pickup didn't work on my speedster or on any other speedster I could lay my hands on. Tried all kinds of different settings/connections. Sold it again and bought my current DL1. But that's in a bit of a different league I think 🙂

Thanks for confirming that, Mark. I was sure it was one of your posts but couldn't find it anywhere.

I hired a DL1 and multi bullet cam setup for a couple of trackdays to try and do some video overlays but the data was so complicated, I didn't bother trying to overlay the logs. :?

It takes a bit of getting used to. Guess it helps me working with computers every day 😉. Really like the results you can get from such relatively simple datalogging tools. The software you get with the dl1 is really great, can see everything you did on every part of the circuit. Combined with the video it is awesome 😃
