sdbutler10 today my car has not been able to idel propley it has been sitting at 1500rpm to 2000rpm just flucaturating any one know wot i could do. i just cleaned my TB yesterday
JohnnyN Have you given it time to settle? Mine did this the first time that I cleaned it. Have a wazz round the block to see if it sorts it out.
sdbutler10 rite since i cleaned it out i have done 100miles and its still playin about. how do i reset my ecu? i went in to my local vx dealer and they said they have heard of it before and it was to do with the timming chain?
baldie87 disconnect the battery for 30-60 mins. if the idle was ok before you cleaned the T/B then i cant see it being the timming
sdbutler10 well i reset my ecu like u told me to and the car seems to be running spot on now. i can only assume as over time it has been gettin dirty the ecu have noticed it and made the throttle open up a bit more but since i cleaned it out the ecu still thought it was dirty so needed to be open a bit more. but with the ecu being reset its gone back to it normal running. thanks everyone for that 😃 😃 😃 😃
Europa_Blue_SE1 Sd did you remove the throttle body completely to clean it or did you do it with it still conacted to the car? just wandering as I think it's something that I could be doing with having done but just not sure wether to take it off or not I am thinking yes but to do this do I have to disconect the battery before I start on it or what?
sdbutler10 i took the whole tb off dissconed the wires i left the battery connected but keys well away from ignition.
