horrible noise

theres a really horrible noise coming from my engine, at first thought it was my tapets and running low on oil but i have topped it up and its getting worse. bearing in mind im a girl and i dont know what im looking at or talking about but i had a look down the left side of my engine and theres a white thing spinning and the noise is coming from that, gonna see if i book it in the garage tomorrow for them to look at it

it might be the auxillary drive belt or pulley, best check with the engine OFF

I cannot think if anything else which spins near there dunno..

is that bad? it started off quiet but its getting louder

if it's the belt they are about £25 or so + fitting, so total of £50 ish dunno..

difficult to diagnose without seeing it notsure.gif

well actually my battery does die alot if i leave my cd player running without the engine running, but i just figured it was cos i needed a heavy duty battery

what cd player you got? you got any ice installed like subs etc... how long do you leav your cd player running with out ur car being on?

well the car was looked at by the garage yesterday and i cried my eyes out when they gave me the list of what needed to be done. £2ks worth!!! supposedly its an internal oil leak from the engine and gear box, cam chain problems, corroded brake pipes, new brakes, middle section exhaust, corroded fuel filter. took it to see my cousins lad tonight, dont need half the stuff they say, there is a problem with the oilage leakage, and the cam chain probably just needs tensioners or something. but hes hopefully gonna fix it this weekend 😃

replace the complete cam chain kit, it's about £125 with gaskets

well what she said after she gave me the price was that if i spoke to one of the sales people they would sort out some finance on a new car for me - i was like "ner divnt think see like" lol :p

did you take it to the dealership? also you'l know wether you need some of the stuff when your next mot is due as it could fail on some of the stuff :? just make sure you only get done what you need doing and dont let anyone rip you off

yeah took it to vauxhall dealership, didnt even pay for them to look at it - i just walked out lol. my cousins lad will only charge me for the parts. my mot isnt due until august. he reckons my brake lines are little bit rusty not corroded at all, brakes dont need changing, and i dont need the middle section of the exhaust repalced
