Rattling noise from cold engine...

I've got a strange noise coming from my engine notsure.gif

It's very much coming from the inlet manifold and throttlebody area.

It sounds like a nut rattling around somewhere, but I've not been able to find one.

It's not especially related to engine revs, but does do it a bit more frequently as the revs rise.

Listening with a screwdriver on the head or cam cover doesn't reveal any noise.

To my mind, it doesn't sound like a mechincal engine noise really, more like a bolt going round inside a washing machine kind of noise.

I think it doesn't seem to do it as much when the engine is hot...

Any ideas?

possibly the alternator knocking the inlet manifold or a loom clip knocking on the manifold - caused by engine vibration dunno..

It's more of a metalic sound though, really odd. I will try and get a video of it.

I had to use lock-nuts on my ECU mounting plate as the nuts supplied kept on comming loose, and making a rattling noise like the one you get when the underwire part of the wifes bra comes out and rattles around the washing machine.
