Rear Washer jet not working.

The rear washer jet on the Astra has stopped working, You can hear the motor but nothing happens.

I cleaned the motor filter a month a go and the fronts are working fine.

I have tried to clean the nozzle with a pin but this has made not differrance at all.

Any ideas dunno..

any water coming from any were the pipe could have off if there is
may be a silly question but is it a seperate water bottle for the rear or both run from one at the front and is there water in it

No sign of water at all, there is only one water bottle for the whole car and it is full.

I may just empty it out and Flush some red hot water down it.

What is annoying it was working fine until the GF took it out the last two days and now it isnt. I am sure she is coursed or somthing cos she has got a intermitent fault on her clio :roll:

Well just been out and and poured a 1 1/2 litres of boiling water into the washer bottle, which did not do a thing motor whirring like hell but not even a dribble. Front ones are fine.

have you tried un pluging pipe at the jet end if it comes out of the pipe then i would think its the jet a fault
if nothing comes out of the pipe then its something between the motor and jet in the pipe
then try unpluging from motor to check its pumping the water if it is probably the pipe if it isnt then could be the motor at fault

Thanks for that, you dont know or anyone how i get to it do you on a astra it goes inside the roof linning and uses the same fixing as the ariel??

but i have just been speaking to matt at www.exhaustsuk.com and he says they would normally give a 10% to clubs or have a free tail pipe design depending what you are after

try the motor end first may be easier to get too and if thats the problem you wont need to get to jet

at a guess i would imagine there will be two motors one for the front and one for the back you may need a hand to check which one is working when you press the washer

I'm sure they use the same pump? most vauxhalls do.

Yep, they just reverse the pump to send water to the rear.

Could try pulling the rear pipe from the pump and see if the pump can squirt then. Might be the one way valve thats jammed?

Sorry, nope not yet fixed it as i have been short on time to do stuff to my car. My car will be going in for some work soon so i am just going to get my mechanic to do it.
