Well it's that time again :evil: everyone looking forward to it no doubt road tax for the 2.2 will go up and probably petrol :evil: will it ever come down 🙁

I dont think Road Tax will alter for us, it may do for newer cars!

Pertrol will go up i am guesing 2p, which means at the pumps 4p and drink going up! It's only going to worse.

For those that havent seen it yet:

Fags up by 11p per pack of 20, cigars 4p

Beer up by 4p, wine by 21p, spirits by 50ishp

Petrol up by 2p later half of the year and 0.5p IN REAL TERMS by 2010

Nothing particularly exciting about, fairly basic budget. Nothing too controversial besides the fuel price increase. My main worry is how they expect to curb inflation when the price of fuel is so high and interest rates are also still a tad high. If I was a betting man I'd have £10 on a recession hitting next year the way its going. I wish Labour would have some balls and do something about it, but with a chancellor who's name is Darling, I doubt thats gonna happen

And as for road tax going up not surprising as the 2.2 is in the higher co2 emitting category.

Surley they wont put up pur road tax to £300!

Just been to my petrol station yesterday 105.9 today 107.9!!!! 0.5p and at the pumps add 2p. Is it ever going to end. The thing is they know they get away with ut with motorists and yes we all moan but we still all pay it, while we keep paying they will still keep putting it up, i am not saying i am right but thats how i see it.

Same with beer, i bet thet will have gone up 10p a pint in my local.

My neighbour drives a 1996 Lexarse 400, and pays £165.00 a year, and I pay £205.00 for my 2.2 dunno..

In case anyone from the DVLA vehicle taxation unit is looking in, it's a 4.0 litre V8 and averages 12mpg FFS

bloody disgusting and a joke this country is, no wonder every bugger is going to another country!!

The roads are in thew worst state ever, my wage has seen 2% in 2 yrs, while everything else has gone up 10fold!!

I have a clean conscience as I did n`t vote for the twats. We the motorist will always get stiffed as we are an easy target, we pay 2 lots of tax on our fuel, excise duty AND vat. I wonder where the gits would get tax from if we all had a Toyota Prius or any other car that runs on fresh air? Rant over. :evil:

And our road budget for Cornwall was cut by £4,000,000

Add to that, less firefighters & police, and the NHS is all to buggery, I can only assume that some tw*t is sitting on a huge pile of cash somewhere :evil:

Labour sucks the big fat one. I didn't vote for these idiots either.

What I don't understand is just how there can be a £14bn defecit in his budget from last time? If that was a trading company that had a black hole of a few thousand pound, the accountant would be shot, and there would be serios questions to be answered. But because it's the government, they just take what the fuck they want from joe public.

The company I work for has jobs going in Australia, and I'm seriously considering it!

Now i may have got it wrong but by if you look at the following table

Tax Band CO2 Emissions (g/km) 2009-10 standard rate 2010-11 first year rate 2010-11 standard rate
J 181-200 260 425 270

Our cars will be in the J band, now i am not sure if this will affect us as our cars are pre 2008, and this may only affect cars after 2008 reg dunno.. but if not

in 2010 - 2011 ours will be 270 a year!! anyone buying a car in the J group from new will have to pay £425 for the first year :evil: :evil: :evil:

If everyone bought petrol from only one branch of petrol station say shell for example the other petrol stations would have to drop there prices to compete?? dunno.. would this work
