hope you guys can help i think my clutch is away out but im not sure when im in first with low revs the car makes a slight dronning noise (quite hard to explain noise on txt) only in first gear and reverse but only on low revs the car seems fine otherwise as its just had a whole new engine put in any help would be good

If you've just had a new engine is, is there definately oil in the gear box?

yeah it was fitted at the vauxhall dealer the cheched after 1000 miles its just done 2000 miles theres no leakages anywhere just a dronning noise in first gear and reverse at low revs

sounds like the gear box, next time it does it knock it into neutral, if it stops then its more than likely the gear box.

if i dont use low revs the noise isnt there and if the car has warmed up a i doesnt make an noise either

if it was the gearbox how much a new one cost ???

I have seen a few cheap gear boxes on Ebay :wink: . I get a weird noise when I pull away from the house in the morning, it also happens at other times but not all times. It's like a juddering noise what.. . Like you say it's hard to put the noise down on text :lol: , I have had this noise since I bought my car. I have not tried it in reverse though. I am sure we have the same noise problem :lol: . I ain't bothered about it as I don't think it's serious :wink:

ok cheers m8 ill see how it goes i got a quote from a breakers for £250 but if it aint broke im no fixing it

I am sure you have the same noise as me Baz, probably something silly but I can't locate my problem and it's not doing any harm.

i just neede to know cos i might be getting a turbo conversion at the end of the year i know my engines ok but was just a bit worried bout the gearbox cheers for the help

I have had my car for about 4 months like this, I have got used to it now. Even on a recipt the last owner heard this noise but the garage could not find it :lol: . I am sure it will be ok if it's the same noise as mine, try and record it, it would probably be hard though

I have a similar noise, but I swear it is a front brake pad rubbing and as it is not serious I don't worry about it.

If I had three feet I could hold the brake on while pulling away to see if it stops, but I can't be fussed, it's not a major issue for me.
