Tyre choice for 18" alloys?

I have come across a problem with 18" tyres for my Vectra,
Vauxhall say and I tend to agree with them that 215/40/18" are the tyres but alloy wheel comanies are selling them with 225/40/18"??? dunno..

Need some opinions? :?

225/40/18 is much the more common tyre hence prices are cheaper which makes the packages more appealing - there are only a few manufacturers that do the 215/40/18 so prices are higher - id personally go for the 215 but you will have to pay extra !

Don't really want to add to your troubles, but several people on VVOC use 35 profile on a 18" rim for a Vectra B dunno..

go for what vx recommend the 215s, ive currently got 225 45s on my 17s at the moment buts thats what were on when i bought them im going to replace them with 215s when they wear down, but i can say there is no rubbing or anything on my vec with standard suspension and et38 mm offset alloys

Might be because they are useing really low suspension dunno..

TBH, you can get away with et-10 off-set with standard suspension 😃

IIRC, it's more to do with silly off-set alloys.

I seem to recall a few BK alloy users with 35 profile tyres because some BK wheels only came in 35-38mm off-set.
