dodger There is about a 10mm step at the bottom of the stick which is connected to the lid the top is max and if none at all the below the minimum.
speeding If your level is low check the metal union / nut that goes into the under side of the steering pump. mine had come loose and poured the fluid all over the top of the gearbox. To tighten i had to remove the reservoir to get in to get in with a spanner.
