Checked my Speedster/VX220 today. (Feb. 2003 and white dot on the slotted tensioner nut)
And surprise surprise... I have the old style jet fitted...
Jet was still working good on both sides (checked with compressed air to open the internal spring valve) and my car only has 12725km on the dial.
As this engine will be changed for an 2.0LSJ soon, I'm now not into changing the complete chain. But had the oil-jet in my hands, so why not modify it now. 😃
Pulled out the brass insert and spring. (surprisingly easy with a small parker) And voila; a new type oil jet.
Can anybody confirm that these new jets are similar to the old ones, but just lack the brass non return valve parts inside? Jet sizes are identical??
