Baz iv got a dvd recorder for my pc had it bout 6 months but now when i put a balnk dvd in it wont read the disc ive tried 3 diffrent type discs and it wont read it will read the same discs aslong as it has info on it and it reads everything else apart from blank discs any ideas guys
Daz try upgrading the firmware for the drive...mite work..but could be a faulty drive...havnt long sent one bk under warranty to svp...
Baz aright m8 tried that still doesnt work maybe a bad batch of disks do u know if pc world takes back items without a reciept dunno where it is 😃
BigAl Yep, deffo check for a firmware update for the drive. This has fixed several drives for me in the past.
Baz ive tried using all the downloads avalibe for my drive ill get new discs tomorow lol today and see if they work
Matt When you say it wont read a blank disc, do you mean that it doesn't actually recognise it as being a blank disc? I had this problem with a bunch of crappy discs, bought the better discs, and had no problem.
Baz yeah when i put the blank disc in it comes up drive d: no disc but it will read everything else fine
Matt Definately sounds like a disc issue, what brand of disc are you using, and do you know what dye is used in the discs?
Baz unbranded discs the dye is like real dvds never had problems before but could just be bad batch 😃
Matt I only really use discs with Ryetek dye, or discs by RiDisc. I've loads of problems in the past with cheap discs which use a cheap dye. You've probably got a duff batch. I get all my media from www.ukdvdr.co.uk
Baz i tried the drive in my m8s pc and it does the same thing he also tried the discs that didnt read on mine and they read on his no bother ive only had the drive 5 months
Baz got my new drive yesterday and it works with all the discs that didnt work with the last drive just got the same one with a new extended guaratnee for nought 😃
