injector seals

Anyone tell me how many seals there should be on injectors.

Just that I had mine cleaned and there were 2 seals per injector when they came back I re installed them and put a egr cheater at the same time but now the car take longer to start maybe upto 4 seconds some time

Wonder if I missed something?

hmm when I had my fuel rail off the other day, there was only 1 O-ring per injector. Is that what you mean?

there are only two seals per injector, one for the top (injector rail) and the other at the bottom (cylinder head)

have you checked for any leaks, does the fuel pump buzz (build up pressure) then go silent when the ignition is first switched on (before engine cranked over)

did you replace the fuel filter too dunno..

might be worth replacing the seals dunno..

Cheers Vocky I replaced the seals there may be a leak as I remember you can hear the fuel pump running as I turn the ignition

Fuel filter no because as I went to change it I noticed camskill sent the wrong . I is a PITA job I thouhgt I would do it when courtenays have the engine out next month But i suppose I am just putting it off.

The injectors slide into a plastic sleeve at the cylinder end.

These plastic sleeves can be removed from the cylinder block and they also have a seal on them.

Could it be possible when the fuel rail was originally removed that one of these seals could have been disturbed?

Really aproeciated that could make sense as I had to use pliers to get number four injector out it wouldn't move,I may have moved the seal when removing.
