My VX has been making some strange noises lately and I've not been able to put my finger on it, until today I think.
I made my own EGR blanking plate a while ago but recently noticed it was blowing out underneath it slightly so I removed it and refitted it with a little exhaust assembly paste underneath it to help seal it.
However now it looks as though exhaust gas is coming out of the back of the engine next to the inlet manifold. I could feel it slightlky and there were a fair few spalsh marks were dirty water had been splattered out.
I think it may be because my plate is not thick enough, it's only about 1mm thick. Should I just use a different instant gasket kind of paste to seal it?
Most importantly, it''s not going to cause me any serious problems at the moment is it?
