What are they like now?

I am coming back to the land of 2.2 again after having a Diesel for a while. I miss the power for one and the sporty look. What made me think about it more was I was driving to work in my diesel astra when a rover 220 came up behind me and he was sitting on my bumper, and I could not shake him :roll: . I felt like hiding in a corner. It's not that I race but he was a prat, he could have went round me. One thing I can remember when I had my 2.2 Astra was I felt like I was at the garage alot :lol: , I bet it's worse now :? . So what are the 2.2's like on fuel now?

I had a 2.2 Diesel Vectra B SRi and they shifted, I dunno why vxl didn`t stick that engine in the Astra though? Around town I get roughly 30 ish and on a run 35-37 as anyone will tell you it all depends how heavy your right foot is.

When I had my last 2.2 it felt like I was at the garage evey 2 to 3 days putting £10 in a time. That was with me traveling to work and local shopping.

I'm averaging about 32MPG, that's doing a 15 mile round trip to work on roads around town and dual carriageway

My plans I have are to get this new 2.2 Astra I have sorted out, give it to my girlfriend and me get a second car, a diesel, but I get to drive the 2.2 on weekends and other days 🙂

could be risky my mate did the same with his scooby
had a fight on his hands to get it back
needless to say she now has the diesel

in the right gear and the right revs u can get some good mpg

Best way to stay out of the garage is to put in £50 in, once every 10 - 15 days :wink:

I know it's the same amount of fuel, over a similar period of time, but you DO visit the garage less often :roll:
