Daz see how you have took off the FPR pipe sorry if this is a dumb question but which pipe is this mate I'm the same as Jon I didn't do the mod myself so don't know wether the FPR has been done or not if you could could you put up a pic of the said piping and a quick how to ie where to blank and where to leave open...

Iff u pul the pipe arrowed off alan,fold the white rubber bit over and tape/cable tie it shut, u will then have the end of the fpr open to atomosphere.

Daz do you think mibbe sticking a bolt in the white part as you said and cable tie would give a better seal mate,and take it you just cable tied the piping...
Thanks for that mate sorry if this sounds stupid but I'm gonna go out and give it a shot myself so just leave the white bit in the fuel rail block and cable tie the FPR piping to something to keep it from waving about I know you've gave me a straight walk through on how to do it but just want to make sure I'm not pickuing anything up wrong!
Did you notice a difference after doing this and as Neil said did you reset your ECU just as said I'm gonna just go out and do it give the car a quick wash and take it out a drive to see if I get a improvement just I know I am running lean myself so wanna see if this makes the mod better than it is...

Remove the white bit from the fuel rail along with the pipe....

Thanks Daz just aswell I posted that or I would have been arsing around trying to block the fuel rail off! :oops:
So I don't need to blank off the piping as I take it it's not gonna be doing anything disconected from the rail or by cable tying it foled over I take it you mean that will shut the pipe off anyway? notsure.gif
Sorry to be a pain in the ar** mate but just wanna make sure it's done right you said after doing this did younotice a diff then mate???

Right idea my FPR still comes from the air intake could I just stick a nipple from my old 2.2 inlet over the hole that it leaves and totally dicnonect the piping altogether give it a try and if I don't like it connect it again??? I'd be better reseting the ECU again wouldn't I!!!

I'm just back in after washing the car so just waiting another 5 mins to let all the codes if any clear of my ECU disconnected the battery about 40 mins ago...
2.2SRI I'll let you know when I get back as I said just in after washing the car and just eating my dinner so gonna have my cuppa tea and go out and see how she feels so after a good 40 miles I'll lead foot it and let you know how it feels mate... 8)

Right that's me decided I am well pleased with this mod it's been done since the other day now wanted to give ity a few days before posting back up what the results were the flat spot I had seems to have gone so I'm well pleased with that and as far as fuel consumption goes I'm well pleased not much if any difference it's deff not went up though just done it the way I said put the nipple on the intake and took the pipe off totally think I'll bring it down to the RR day and give it a run with it on then take it off again and see which way is giving the best result...

Just been weighing up Daz's findings and just want to clarify in my head that after removing and blanking the FPR pipe you dont need this connected to the one way valve thats required for 120amp alternator "type" fitting? It reads on Daz's thread about fitting his manifold that you put a one way valve in and it sounds and looks as though you connected your FPR pipe to the valve, let us me know if i have got this right notsure.gif your latter findings after your RR day also suggested that the FPR pipe need blanking as Neil mentioned also. so it sounds as though FPR needs BLanking and the one valve stays in the vacume pipe from the servo for the 2.4 manifold to run right on the veccy with 120amp alternator.... :?

What alterator you have should make no difference to the fpr mod and servo pipe....As you have got a vec if you leave the fpr as normal or not connect it at all you will still need aone way valve with one small outlet for the heater control vacum pipe...
