righty update from the mechanic, compression test was fine apparenly, vacuum test was fine, timing was spot on and no air leaks. He is adament that it is all to do with the stroke of the cams that is throwing out the ECU and what is needed is some form of remap which he is not sure can be done with this particular ecu or if that cant be done he thinks head matching may help.
Although he has done some form of - in his words "air leak bodge" to help raise the idle speed (whatever that means!). Ive got to go down tomorrow to give a try out !!!
