right I might be able to tweak an engine but when it comes to shiny stuff I'm useless :oops:

my total vauxhall photoshoot is in a couple of weeks and I want to make the blue paintwork extra, extra shiny, so what can I use and buy over the counter - Halfords etc :?

the paintwork has some swirl marks but is generally in good shape, so I'm after a polish / wax / whatever notsure.gif

to make it easier for you the wheels do not need doing as they've recently been refurbed 🙂

I use autoglym polish and stuff, so what else can I use dunno..

Right.

Vocky AutoGlym is fine. But this what i would reccomend

Get some decent wash solution

Megs Gold class is very nice or the nxt wash is fairly good.
I find this stuff better though

Use two bucket method, please please dont use a sponge. get yourself a decent lambswool mitt or schmitt

Dry with a decent WW towel you can buy one from halfrauds but i would reccomend one of these -

Then as you say you could use AG super resin polish appiled with AG super resin will fill most small swirl marks.

Then you can either seal and wax or just wax.

Also dont forget to do your iner archers and tyres nothing worst then gray dirty plastics. I use vinly and rubber care on the archers and megs endurance gel on the tyres.

Don't worry about it just give it a good clean and let the photographer do all the hard work 😃

Turned out well for us, this is Martins car after a 40mile drive and a couple of laps round knockhill 🙂 Looks nice and shiny doesn't it 8)

This pretty much sums it all up Neil, follow that, and the photographer won't need to do much PP work on the pictures, and will also make it easier to maintain the paintwork in the long run

my vx is still very clean, it's only dusty really :oops:

wheel arches were done last week with autoglym vinyl and rubber care, took each wheel off, cleaned the disc / suspension stuff / tyre shine on inside tyrewall and outside / arch liner, so they don't need any work.

still looks pretty much like this pic

floor pans are also pretty clean, but could do with a quick wipe over.

I just want to make the paintwork shine, so a good wax or sealant is what I require then dunno..

Sounds good to me Vocky.

If you are struggling to get buy online then.

AG Super resin polish or Megs Stage 2 polish buffed off with a good microfibre cloth.

Then a wax to add depth Nattys Blue and once again if you can not order online some Gold class wax ( not used by the detailing world that much) or some NXT paste wax!

spraying the discs with heat resistant paint when new keeps them looking good 🙂

hopefully the paintwork will look as good tomorrow dunno..

If you have light swirls, then a couple of coats of AG SRP will work wonders.

It has a very good filler content that will mask light swirls.

Finish off with a couple of coats of Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection, 24 hours between coats if poss, and it will look fantastic.

I'm not sure why, but SRP followed by EGP give brilliant results on VX paintwork 😃

Vocky out of the two Autoglym or Meg polish I'd go with the Autoglym mate I just got some recently and it takes the swirl marks out a lot better than the Megs I've always used the Megs 3 steps with the clay bar also but after the result I got with the Autoglym on both the Astras and my wee bros Black Veccy B I'll be sticking with that polish and your car being the same colour as my Coupe with a good bit of elbow grease you'll be amazed at the results you get as for all the other steps I think Simon has them tatally covered can't wait to see your feature... 8) 😃

I like the megs pad (which came with the gold stuff), puts an even coating of the wax onto the paintwork 🙂

just waiting for the wax to dry and then polish it off
