Zaf Wipers

Hi All

I have heard there was a recall/fix for the Zafira windscreen wipers but I can't find out anything about it.

Anybody know what it was for, what work needs doing, and what cars are affected.

The reason I ask is that I have had mine meet in the middle and snapping a couple of times. It always seems to happen when they are worn and it seems to be the passenger side that judders and causes the problems.

The measurements for the blades are....drivers blade 32mm from window trim, passengers blade 88mm from window trim. The trim is the one that runs along the bottom of the screen. Also check if there is no sideways play in the arms or linkage. 1384 was the field remedy that was for not sweeping up to the A pillar far enough, hope this makes sence.

I will be out at the weekend with my tape measure. I assume they are correct as I would have thought the blades would not be parallel to the bottom of the window if they were out.

I have checked for play and all seems good. I just hoped there may have been a new bush or bracket that could eliminate juddering completely.

I guess that I have to be methodical about changing wipers regularly. I usually use the genuine VX ones from Autovaux (as they are only a couple of miles up the road from me). Are there any better brands to use?

GM or Bosch are ok, another thing to check is the small linkage that comes off the motor normaly it will line up with small scribe marks on the motor. If we get a Zafira in on friday I`ll get a photo of the linkage set up.
