Lotustype116 Also posted on Vx220.org.uk Finally finished fitting my new exhaust system showo.. Big thanks to everyone who helped with this cheers.. Especially Jim at 2Bular and Vocky for making me a heatsheild. While the clam was off i took advantage and also fitted:- 2.4 inlet manifold, New top engine mounts, New lower mount inserts, New Fuel filter, New coolant tank, Oil and filter change, Spark plug change, and EGR removal. Was planning on changing the chains too but ran out of time due to forthcoming house move

AnGarrek I think I've just done a sex wee drool.gif You need a see through clam for the 220, it's a crying shame to keep this covered up !!!
alanoo Hum mate, I read that this is a 3 inch bore system ? (2.5 manifold and 3" system ?) With an almost stock engine if you did not raised the rpm limit you are loosing a lot of torque and power here. Bigger is not always better, especially for exhausts. But if you plan supercharging one day, this is perfect 😃

But if you plan supercharging one day, this is perfect 😃 I've seen that said but alot of that is based on it being installed on a front engined car where the majority of the pipe work is streight or slight bend. In the VX you've got 2x90 and 2x180. Doing a 1D calc using Miller* I worked out that to get the same pressure loss in a VX as in a front engined car with a 3" exhaust you'd have to use 5" pipe work for the bends. *Internal Flow Systems, D S Miller the basis of the 1d CFD code Flowmaster.
alanoo Hum true notsure.gif Wonder if I should not go bigger than 2.5" with my 220-240 bhp and high rpm build notsure.gif

alanoo Erf, I still haven't got my 2bular system. Was waiting for their manifold which is not ready yet
vocky my engine seems much better with the 2.5" exhaust 🙂 I agree the U bend should be as big as possible, 3" would be a good size, plus the design of the milltek is chambers so not the best for flow, might be great for noise reduction
McFly That's exacly what I want for my vx220!! drool.gif Is the exhaust mainfold's 2-1 section from 2Bular? Where did you buy weapon R mainfold?...I've sent an e-mail to Jim but still waiting his answer
McFly nickb777 said: Try ebay.com lots on there for the ecotec about $195.00 + shipping[/url] Thank you. It seems that Jim, from 2Bular, is also preparing some mainfold system ¿?
