Long Exposure Night Shots

Just had a play about with some long exposure (4 second shots)

Would be quite happy with them if it hadn't just started spitting with rain, and got drops on the lense filter:

I love taking long exposure shots ..

For example, here's a photo of an old electric elevator controller .. looks pretty awful.

Now, zoom into one of the relays, turn off the flash and set exposure to 15 seconds.

You can also get some pretty interesting results .. eg

When I get my car back, I want a pic like this with my car in front of the Clifton Suspension Bridge with the cars going across it in the background.

How long is the exposure on those pictures Daz? Could do with being a bit more steady, and you'd get a much crisper image.

set at 50iso matt...cant get it no lower...

ISO50 is nice and low. The lowest setting on my camera is 64, which is what I used last night. These are the rest of the settings:

Image Type: jpeg (The JPEG image format)
Width: 3072 pixels

How do u alter the exposure time?...

Can you increase the exposure time, as that will let more light into the lense, and make the picture more vibrant and pick up more details?

Just looked at the specs, and if I'm reading this correct, you can set the exposure to a maximum of 15 seconds:

SHUTTER
Type Mechanical shutter & electronic shutter
Speed 15 - 1/2,500 sec
(Slow Shutter speeds of 1.3 sec. and more, available in Manual and Shutter Priority AE modes only. Shutter speeds of 1.3 sec. and more operate with noise reduction. Certain combinations of shutter speed and aperture may not be available.)

There will be a setting in Manual mode on the camera to adjust it

Thats not the iso setting is it matt,as i just put that to 100 and the exposure time is the same...
