After 14 years on XenForo, the site has now moved over to Flarum.
A bit of honesty about the why: the forum has been largely idle for a while, and the XenForo software hadn't been updated in several years. Renewing the licence annually for a site that doesn't generate any revenue stopped making sense, and running ageing forum software comes with its own risks. Flarum is open source, free, modern, and fits the scale of activity we have these days.
Everything is still here:
- All 26,500+ threads and ~ 284,000 posts going back to January 2006
- Every user account (5,200+ members)
- Your private conversations / inbox
- Photo galleries, Garage showcase entries, resources, and member blogs
- Old XenForo URLs will redirect to their Flarum equivalents, so any links you'd shared elsewhere still work
What's different:
- The interface is completely new : Flarum feels snappier and more like a modern forum should in 2026
- "Forums" are now "Tags" : categories work much the same way, just labelled differently
- Thread prefixes (For Sale, Resolved, Z22SE, etc.) appear as colored chips alongside the discussion title
- A handful of niche XenForo add-on features (custom profile fields, some moderation tools) didn't carry over.
What you need to do:
Because XenForo and Flarum store passwords differently, you'll need to reset your password the first time you log in. Head to https://z22se.co.uk/, click Log In → Forgot Password, enter your email, and you'll get a reset link.
