Vicky the vectra
Overview
2000 Vectra B LS, brought the car in august 2001 as a replacement for recently deceased mk3 cavalier GLS.
after a few years got board with its power and handling so started looking into tunning it and making upgrades.
very reliable car and nice to drive as a daily car.
Exterior
GSI front air dam, saloon rear spoiler, irmscher front grill, fk angel eye head lamps, GSI recaro seats.
Engine
started with a k&n panel filter, remus cat back exhaust and tried to get a remap but no power gains so didn't get charged although she drove much better after they tried.
then fitted a dbilas exhaust manifold due to standard one cracking along with a sports cat.
next cam a set of dbilas cams, big mistake! great torque gains but terrible idle so spoke with supplier and was told it needed a remap so booked it in....... even bigger mistake!! drove it 500yrds after and it would not idle or drive under 3k so returned got it 'adjusted' still not great and was told I needed an inlet manifold and a new idle control valve??? they as you are aware don't have idle control valves!
fitted dbilas inlet after moddifiying it to fit a Vectra B and had trouble with extention loom for throttle not wired correctly, no surport from supplier or dbilas! sorted that myself and off to cs for a custom map
happy days! 168bhp 165lbft and drove so well but still rough idle.
after a few years the head gasket went but ended up being cracked head so new head brought, ported, shrick cams & springs, full rebuild as it was at 117k by then and had 1 bore just under max ovality so rebore to 86.5.
remapped again and 173bhp 167lbft, smooth idle, great on fuel seemed flat in midrange so re fitted standard inlet and that went away but lost 2bhp top end.

Vectra c sri 17" alloys pirelli pzero nero 215/45/17" tyres, spax rsx coil overs, power flex anti rollbar bushes.
Audio
alpine IVA-D310 dvd head unit, Rockford fosgate power 250.1 and punch 400.4 amp's, celestion ad12 subs x2, MB quart qm218.61q front speakers, 28 rolls of dynamat extreme.
