Is it the same?

Hi, just a quick one, is a catalytic converter for a 2.2 16v Vectra the same as a 2.2 16v Astra. I want to replace the one I got off Kwick fit because its too small which has cause some lost in power. I know someone with a Vectra and I was thinking of putting it on my astra . What do you think. Mine’s an 01 reg by the way. dunno..

Was it a weld in cat or a complete downpipe? If its a complete downpipe then they will be different. Also, the later Astra didn't have a pre-cat in the downpipe.

It was a weld in cat, I think they would be the same,having said that do you think any 2.2 16v engine would have a weld in cat that would do the same job?

the downpipe / cat sections are different between the astra and vectra

but you can weld the cat to either downpipe section

Why not buy a sports cat from ebay?

I was thinking of getting one but I was going to save myself some cash by getting this cat off my mates right off . There is 45k done on the motor and I’d say I’d get another 20 k out of the cat . Or will I just leave it , save myself the hassle and get the sports one. What are a good make for the Z22SE. Thanks . dunno..
