just got a quote for a new clutch £250 supplied and fitted

£350 including cyclender

Thats far better than what i thought?? Need to get mine done sometime.. Thrust bearings being vocal but until it slips im happy to put up with it.

Has yours gone then totally??

yeah not bad that aint! bout £100ish 4 the clutch kit(trade) including cyclender is a MUST bcuz its inside the box but there is a lot of labour! but they are not a 5min job trust me 😃 i got 1 2do monday 🙁

I've got mine to do soon :roll: was thinking about taking the complete engine and box out the top to do it. dunno.. cosidering i would do it at home in my garage, i think if i had the use of a ramp for a weekend i could drop the gearbox out the bottom dunno.. me thinks it will have to come out the top at home 😃

get it out bottom mate drop subframe not all the way can if u want but if u dont the box will not cum all the way out :shock: but it is poss 2 still do it !!

nah just get box out from bottom no need 4 engine 2 cum out !! just drop subframe down a bit !or drop it completely 2 get box out up 2 u!! if u doing it at home in the dry? take N/S/f front suspension and arm off 2min job and tie up the brake caliper at top of inner wing ! if not drop n sumframe completely becuz More room this way 2 put gear box on y taking the clutch and clclender off 😃

Mine will be getting done shortly...gonna be dropping the engine and box out the bottom....whilst its out the balance shafts will be goin in the bin...and all parts will be having aclean upand lick of paint...

spot on buddie, not up for that sh1t, i'd rather lift out the top and do it all hanging of a engine hoist. in fact any one got one for sale. dunno..

no mines not gone yet but some times it slips in the morning, but i have just moved to an area where i dont know any garages, so i had them fix my wheel as it went flat and while i was there i just thought i would ask how much they would charge. i was expecting it to be more than that

did that astra 2day td though but same thing taken bout 1/2 n abit lol 2 get the box out thats not race n though lol and 2 types of cyclenders and they aint got any out of the 2 in so is cum n 2moz!

Bought mine from autovaux think cylinder was £40 and clutch was £70 ish + the dreaded VAT doing mine myself as engine is out, already put slave in box just need to finish engine now waiting on gudgeon? pins! plus snapped one of the gear linkage rods and you have to buy them in a pair £50 gutted extra expense that i could have done without :roll:

yeah they get easy as u go along mate like ot else done about 4 nah and number 5 is on it was box as gone so that a subframe drop !sum picz on the astra i done 2day!!

I dont mind doing Astra clutches, but the Vectra ones are a paincos of the power steering pipes and the daft oil filled enginre mountings. Rant over.
