Going to the nurburgring (insurance)

Me and a mate from work are planning to go to the Nurburgring in April for a bit of a road trip and a go on the Nurburgring.

Having a Z22se astra coupe with the TC and FWD I am pretty confident that I will not lose control of the car and end up in a wall, having said that, a lot of loons go on the ring and I dont want to be left with a bill or anything like that if someone hits me. Also, my mate has an S2000 so insurance is an important point I need to consider.

Anyone got any ideas? All the track day insurance companies seem to only offer insurance for UK tracks and the one place that ive found (on google) is very expensive.

Does not the ring offer insurance? May be worth looking at there site.

Have been on the ring's website, and whilst the english/german translation does not cover the whole website, there doesnt appear to be any insurance available, although im sure i heard that you could pay on the day (perhaps on top gear or something) for insurance.

Hmm I will carry on looking for a bit before I start phoning round the insurance companies.

Try ADAC in germany (think that's what they're called), they're the german equivalent of the AA and are the people who would pull your car off the ring if you do lose it big time, think they might have something that works, either that or Competition Car Insurance in the UK might be best bet

Hmm it turns out that as the Nurburgring is a public road (?) I am insured on it!

Turns out some insurers specifically exclude "de-restricted public toll-roads" from policies to prevent people going on the ring, but mine doesnt!

i would make sure you are deff covered though.
