possible supercharging idea

Just a thought, the gm supercharger kit:

They sell the supercharger seperately, I wonder what the chances of our standard TBs fitting that supercharger, I know one or two mods are needed eg vaccumm one or two sensors, thena suppose a remap - courtney could probably help there.

Any ideas girls and guys on this dunno..

This is an idea of what you need and what would be involved. This is for the DIY Stage 3 conversion but you'll get an idea of whats required and how much work is involved. Not quite just a straight forward change of vacuum pipes and sensors.

A man to fit it and whatever he costs and his mate to set up on a
rolling road at £’s an hour
On a VX we take just over 5-6 days to do a 240BHP install, and both front and rear clams are removed.

Or, would a simplier lower boost stage 1 be a bit easier like the GM one as it seems the engine can easily handle 200bhp?

you could do a low spec sc conversion for perhaps £2.5k, but 200 bhp would be the max power and you can tune a NA to 200bhp for the same money dunno..

I suppose 2.5k would be quite reasonalbe for 200bhp, looking at what you can spend just getting the car to 180bhp plus superchargers sound cool!

I agree, 350+ bhp sc conversion is worth the cost 8)

below 250bhp then NA is the way to go showo..

I suppose you know that Rebel Auto Worx were (are?) working on a kit where you could replace the M62 for a Lysholm 1200ax on the supercharged Cobalt. They reused the intake manifold (the same as the one in the GM SC kit). Its laminova intercooler would be put in use too.
