how much do vauxhall charge for fitting water pump, i hope its not the water pump, but i am looseing coolant, thought it mite be the head gasket but no water in oil or oil in water engine is still going fine ,vauxhall said they will pressure test it, also the eml light is on all the time it will have to go on the tech2 as well, looks like i could have a heafty bill to start the year of. cryb.. cryb..

I think the water pump job is quite labour intensive sorry to say. Daz or Vocky will be along shortly I would imagine, they'll have a good idea.

To change the water pump without disturbing the cam chain you need a locking tool,so unless u can find an indepandant gargae who has got one its goin to be ajob for vx...other than that its not a to bad job to do....

Whereabouts is the water leaking ,can u see any visible signs?

cant see where its comeing from it only leaks,when the pressure builds up i can see water down at the bottom of engine.

with the locking tool it's quite an easy job, but at vx that doesn't mean cheap :roll:

got back from vauxhall and they pressure tested for leaks found a corroded radiator hose that was causing the leak, i am well happy its not head gasket or water pump, made my day. cheers.. cheers..

Glad you found the leak and fixed it easy enough! for future ref, Its a fair bit easier to change the pump with the sprocket locking tool as mentioned above and if you live in the northwest then I know Midpoint garage (MPG) have one.
