WHITE_VAN_MAN cAN ANYONE HELP I THINK I KNOW THE ANSWER BUT THOUGHT I WOULD ASK the vx220 engine is the z22se engine is the bottom end same spec as the se non asperated I will re-ask that is the zssse vx220 bottom end the same as the z22se sri engine non turbo Thanks
vocky the only difference between all the z22se engines is the vectra has a hex drive for the power steering pump on the inlet cam and the vx220 has a different sump, otherwise the engines are identical.
benny as voky says same engine even down to the program in the ecu ......what gave the vx220's there edge apart from the lack of weight is the final drive in the gearbox is different .....
Yorkshire_sxi It mite be a daft thing to say then....but could you not fit that gearbox on to a vectra ?? would it make any diffrence?
vocky the vx220 gearbox won't fit a vectra, the gearbox mounting is on the top but you could change the casing over....
WHITE_VAN_MAN PISTONS SOOOO Are the pistons same are they not lower compression,the thing being is that i have a spare top end for the z22se and i have seen a VX220 bottom end no points to what i am thinking
