auto box broke help please

hi all, after spending forever rebuilding my z22se engine, the car drove perfectly for 2 days now the autobox seems to have given up the ghost, when i start the engine i get drive (forward and reverse) for about 1 to 2 mins then its starts slipping and within a few seconds there is no drive at all untill i stop the engine for 5 mins then i get the 1 to 2 mins drive again. I have changed the gearbox fluid and this made no difference as all, any ideas anyone, i really need to get this car working, anyone who can help me diagnose the fault? any ideas what the gearbox type is?

any help greatly appreciated.

P.S. the car is a 2001 vectra 2.2 16v CD Auto

Do they still have torque converters??

Could be worn out??

sounds like something is overheating dunno..

probably best to take it to a gearbox specialist :roll:

yeah they do have tourqe convertors, i wondered if they can ware out!

I would definatly take it to a gearbox specialist, have a look for a company called RANDS LTD. they are based in a place called STOWMARKET. we use them for our auto transmission etc at work, they may well be worth a look dunno..

I guess i might have to resort to getting it looked at by the pro's trouble is its just took all the funds i had to sort the engine, had hoped there was some Autobox experts on here to try and give me a diagnosis, guess i will have to save up

the auto gearboxes are so complex, it's cheaper to go to a specialist :roll:

have you tried cleaning the filter it may be blocked it will be located some where around the valve chest t is worth a try before you spend any more money as they can cause all sorts of drive problems when dirty.
