Timing chain not snapped but jumped 2.2 sri

managed to bend the inlet valves and break the guides on the inlet side but did the repair myself so atleast no labour charge just a bit of cold weather on the driveway

Pistons okay then, you were lucky. Where did you get replacement valve guides from?

mine had just jumped a bit...benny was shocked when he lifted the bonnet. that was good timing when I decided not to turn the ignition or drive and towed the car...

lucky yes and no lucky about the pistons probably cos i only took it off the driveway to wash it if i`d been driving properly then i think the damage would have been greater but unlucky as it cost a few quid to do as it has many other members

advice is even if unsure GET IT DONE

as for the guides i got a local firm that was skimming the head to do me a skim,supply and fit 8 guides and cut valve seats for the new valves 120 quid

That was good. I paid £160+ Vat to have mine made. Vauxhall don't supply replacements.

didnt really try searching as i didnt have anything to press them in with but they did try to charge me 12 quid a valve which i got elsewhere for around fiver each so is worth shopping around

had them fitted at a company in St Neots,Cambs
