No water at home (Froze)

My water at home is frozen up. I have no toilet water, no tap water. Nothing. I have put the heating on to see if it will warm the pipes up a bit. Whats the best thing to do? Cheers

that's not good, where about did the water freeze in the pipe, perhaps the pipe need insulting to prevent that from happening again.

It was the pipe in the outside cupboard at the stopcock. I head it melting and making noises as I had the hairdryer on it.

You really need some sort of insulation on there then Mark as Roger said. Once it's froze, things will only get worse

I will, whats best? The shop that sells pips will probably be able to help me out. It was - 02 this morning. I will be leaving the heating on tonight

it depends on what size your incoming supply is, if its 15mm supply after the stop cock you would be best off with 15mm ID and something like 25mm OD if it'll fit round the pipe. if it's 22m pipe 22mm ID and 25mm OD you should be able to get this from your local pluming merchants or DIY store if you have a picture of your incoming supply i can tell you what you need to do? 🙂 just let me know 🙂

just get sum grey lagging a juinor kacksaw and sum duct tape.

cut the lagging at a 45degree angle when you get to the compression elbow, the rest of the lagging needs to go on. you can cut out the lagging so you can fit it around the new stopcock then just tape the joints up so there is no gaps. hope this helps! 🙂
