itsonlymoney I'm realy confused because Every so often when accelerating the neadle gets to about 3500 and the power juts ci=uts off and the revs drop. The car slows down until the revs get to about 2000 or I lift off and put back on again. This happens in second mainly and sometimes in third occationally but on Saturday it happened three times in a row from three different roundabouts on the Lincoln bypass. Wierd When it first happened the car was due a service so I had it seved as usual with new fuel filter etc. Then it happened again so I reset the ECU but after this weekend its realy starting to frustrate me. The car has done about 45000 and only has minor mods. Veccy C intake De-restricted air box K & N Panel filter Plugs (been in for about 15000) Oil catch can Breather filter on the intake pipe where the oil pipe went to Any ideas anybody??? Cheers Rob
Blue_Eyes Hi, I’m going to jump on this tread and say this happening to my car also. I just got her a full service and new fuel pump too and she is dying in second when I accelerate. The traction light does come on a split second. What does this mean? I’m so angry with this car with all the cash I put in to her. :?
vocky if the traction control light comes on then the engine limiter has been set off by the traction control due to wheelspin
Blue_Eyes But thats the thing i lose power so i cant wheel spin. I know when the wheels are spinning and they are not when the light comes on. The lose of power is so great its like its goes dead and then kicks back in . Could this be happening due to a new fuel pump? dunno..
itsonlymoney The TC Light does not come on at all when the power is lost. When the car wheelspins and TC kicks in the power cuts slightly, this is NOT happening. Power is lost totally and the revs drop a log intill I lift off or untill about 1500-2000 revs The plugs are Denso iridium ones that have been in for about 15000 miles.
adie2_2 Hello mate, nightmare hey 🙁 ,I'im not saying I know the ansaw for you with this, but may be the potentiometer in the throttle body is going out of its valid range, then maybe causing the ECU to do something?????? dunno.. just a thought?
itsonlymoney Posably, think I'll have to get a garage to look at it and read the fault numbers to see if that helps.
itsonlymoney Does its sound like it could be the spark plugs because after a lot of head scratching I remembered that my mr2 had almost the same problem and after I replaced the plugs and leads all was fine? Any thoughts anyone?
itsonlymoney Does anyone know the part no for the vauxhall triple electrode plugs? So I ca get some Cheers for your help Rob
