I removed my EGR valve trying to find a fault on the car, I think it was shot anyway.
I used the EGR cheater.
My car is now fixed (dual mass fly replaced) and drives lovely but it will not start well at all and I just do not know what it is.
When warm, it can turn over for 5 seconds before starting (does not sound long, but you count in your head and think of the starter motor turning over and over, its ages!) , but then its perfect!!! When cold it will start much better. And if I turn the engine off when hot and re start immediately, it will start one turn, perfect. Its just when its left to cool slightly, its very annoying.
It does idle ever so slighlty lumpy, barely noticible to be honest, but I can tell it slightly twitches up and down and you can feel a blip in the engine now and then.
So......I have managed to get a brand new EGR very cheap so want to fit it to see if this helps but I no longer have the connector!!
Can anyone help me with this please........
I aso managed to get a TB that had only done 4k as I thought that was the problem and while the car is so much smoother now, it still starts like shit!
Can the air flow meter case problems???? No EML.
The thing is the car did start fine before I managed to diagnose the dualmass flywheel problem, but like I said, I tried a few things before I found the real problem. So now I need to retrace the things I did mess with to find why it will not strat correctly.
