urgent leather seat question

if i replace my seats with leather heated ones with side air bags and pre-tensioners what do i need to connect them up? I mean is it a Tech2 jobbie as mine are just basic black cloth seats.
Urgent answer required please.... 😃

if you don't have side airbags then leave them disconnected dunno..

but if you already have them it's just a case of disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes and swap over the seats 🙂

you could have the wiring already in place, if you do it's plug and play 😃

I think from memory i have a yellow and purple plug underneath just doin nothing notsure.gif

yellow is probably airbag

purple could be the heated seat plug

if you haven't got side airbags don't plug them in, the airbag ecu will throw up the dash light.

to make them work requires a lot of work and a new airbag ecu :roll:

Forgot to ask Neil am i right in thinking that if the heated seat wiring is already in the car it will be behind the panel under the ashtray just needing the switches connecting up?

if the underseat wiring is there then the dash wiring should be too 😃

to retro fit side airbags you need....

side airbags, door sensors, air tight door seals, a new door loom, a new dash loom, a '4 airbag' ecu

it really isn't worth the hassle :roll:

The wiring is there if it is a 2.2. vectra, take out the blanking plate where the buttons would go and see if you can see the connection behind, mine was all there, from the dash to the seat, i have also taken loads of photos, whice can be see on another website..

fitting the seats is easy, just disconnect the battery for 30 minutes before swapping the seats

Ive just got back from picking the seats up and am going to fit them tommorrow, but before i plug anything i shouldnt in can anyone shed any light as to what cables are what? I know the green one is the pre-tensioner.

This is what is behind my centre console:

I have wiring under my seat that consists of a green socket (connected pre-tensioner) 2 sockets doin nothing, and a yellow socket doing nothing, my problem is that theortically i could connect them all up under the seat but i just wanna double check which is the airbag? As i could do without a trip to VX to get ripped off.

A guy in Coventry, he stuck em on ebay yesterday, in 2 hours he had 12 watchers and 4 offers. He was asking £495, i rang him and said ill pick em up today for "£450 and he agreed. I got back at 11:30 and have been cleaning them all afternoon coz they were filthy but apart from usual wear n tear they come up nice. I have been lookin for months for some and though xmas is a good time coz everyone needs some extra dosh!
