I just collected my car from MOT test centre (nationwide) . My car failed MOT
001 Nearside headlamp aim too high [1.6]
002 Offside headlammp aim too low [1.6]
003 Exhaust emissions Lambda reading after 2nd fast idle outside specified limits [7.3.2b]
The headlamps failed coz I got angel eyes fitted. I paid a garage 100 + Vat to fix it for me ( although I bought them on ebay). They are a garage who do service...tyres...exhausts..brakes and MOT themselves. When I paid them ( Chemix Autocentre http://www.chemix-autocentres.co.uk/) so much money to fix it, I would have expected them to check and fix the alignment as well !!! Grrr....I have the receipts for that labour they charged. hopefully I can get this sorted for free. 'nationwide' said it is not staright forward to align these particular headlamps, they tried and they need more time ( read it as MORE MONEY) !!!
Emission failed - Lambda sensor. Is a genuine wear and tear possible on the sensor or could it be the Super Unleaded petrol that I get from Tesco's. They are going to charge me approx £70 for the sensor when I take the car back after getting the headlamp alignment sorted.
My current MOT expires on 15th. I dont have much time and I got to work all day as well....Grrrr
