Chewed up screw heads.

In trying to remove my arch liner i needed to remove two screws from the pro-drive bumper both of these are seized.

I soaked them in WD40 and other oil, but they just rounded and now are all chewed up. I tried pliers and grips.

I know i could drill them and then re-tap. If this is my only option i will pay some one to do it.

Have any of you guys used somthing like this before?

Also has anyone got part numbers for them daft plastic plugs that you push the middle out, that secure the arch liner in place, as i have lost the little plastic middle bit.

you can use a screw instead of the plastic bit, but they are only about 20p each at the dealer

The second set of tools (Easy Out) bits are good. I use them in work sometimes.

I normally just drill them out and rethread the hole, depends how bad the threads are dunno..

Well i have been at it 3hrs today :shock: My washers are still not working. I have no skin on one of my knuckles and this what i am left with.

The car is now stuck on the drive as the arch liner has no fixings neither has the bumper :lol:

Bit fed up really.

This is whats left of 3hrs work. I know why i pay mechanics to do things now.
I am now going to have to pay some one to fix the wahser jets and come out to my house, prob more then if i would have just taken in the first place.

just buy some new fittings, they won't be much 🙂

I am sure the fixings will they will be cheap as anything it's juet getting to a dealership near me that has a parts dept.

plastic rivet has two part numbers 90138810 + 90450482 notsure.gif

a new filter = 90347698

It is the screw and nut/ clip that holds the front bumper through the arch liner at the top.

I think it is 9130734 for the screw and 90464538 for the odd metal clip / nut.

Is part number 20 these "plastic rivet has two part numbers 90138810 + 90450482" ?

New filter = 90347698 is this the rubber grommet in the waher bottle?

Both your numbers and mine look like the same thing, just diff part numbers LOL.

20 is the plastic rivet 🙂

the filter sits inside the grommet, so two seperate part numbers, the number is just the filter 🙂

All parts bought and replaced all bar one plastic rivet so i used a screw like you said.
